Yoga & Nonviolent Communication
Monday, April 29, 2024, 3:30 PM
Join CoR After School on Mondays for a program dedicated to learning better, healthier ways of approaching conflict and conversation. This program will be run by Liz Virgo, a certified Yoga Instructor and student of Nonviolent Communication.
Nonviolent Communication is a practice that allows people to understand their own feelings within a conflict, while being able to increase empathy for others they may be experiencing conflict with. These skills not only help folks navigate conflict in a healthier way but drastically influences the way we communicate on a daily basis with those around us, whether we are in conflict or not. Liz will lead students in a forty-five-minute to one-hour program, taking time to discuss different aspects of nonviolent communication while also incorporating gentle, beginner-level yoga, to center the mind and body on the skills being taught.
The program will be offered every Monday that school is in session, from 3:45pm-4:45pm, and is most impactful if students can participate on a regular basis. For more information or to let us know you plan to participate in this weekly offering, contact Tym House.
