Home Comforts Ministry
Home Comforts (HC) consists of a group of volunteers, utilizing all of their combined talents to meet the needs of families who are leaving the Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) program. HC provides a modest, yet necessary start and a new beginning in their new home.
We have the capacity to serve up to 4 families per month. We also provide Thanksgiving Baskets and participate in the Christmas Adopt‐A‐Family program for our families at Christmas.
Our goal is to provide items for their home, i.e. sheets (twin, full and queen only) , towels, bedspreads, small appliances, and items for the kitchen. Many times HC finds these families have absolutely nothing! Household items are collected for this ministry on an ongoing basis from Redeemer families and the surrounding community.
Our process is simple, when the family moves from IHN; they send the referral to HC. A team lead is assigned to the family. They contact the family to see what items they need, and schedule a time for the delivery. We send at least 2 adult volunteers to make the delivery. Delivery takes approximately 1‐2 hours, from start to finish.
Anyone can participate! Families are encouraged to get involved. You can volunteer to sort items in our donation room, serve as a lead for deliveries or simply help make deliveries.
