Giving Tree

In the spirit of Christmas, we gift with gratitude this year with on-line and in-person options for giving during this holiday season.
Our Virtual Giving Tree this year is supporting First Step Home. First Step Home was founded in 1993 and has helped thousands of women recover from addiction to drugs and alcohol. Their mission is to empower women to overcome substance abuse disorders so that they can achieve self-sufficiency and provide a safe and nurturing environment for their children. Church of the Redeemer provides gifts each year for their Santa Shop, where mothers can shop, free of charge, for gifts for their children, and children for their mothers.
This year, we have again collaborated with First Step Home to do a Christmas Gift Charity Registry for the mothers and children through Target.comUse the button for one-click access to their wish list. Look through the list, choose the gift(s) you would like to donate, then check out. At checkout, please choose “Shipping to the address on First Step Home’s charity registry.” This will ensure that the gifts get to the right place. You will receive free shipping on your order. Remember, the women and children will wrap the gifts themselves so you can skip the gift-wrap option.
Gifts should be purchased no later than Sunday, December 12th to ensure a timely delivery. Gifts will be delivered to the First Step Home executive office and then collectively taken to the house the week before Christmas.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Jeanne Plunkett. Thank you for your generous support of these mothers and their children.
Our Christmas Tree in the narthex at Redeemer will also be adorned with beautiful ways to give this year. Gifts under the tree will go to the residents of Madison Villa, our Mission Partner for affordable housing with Episcopal Retirement Services.
Like ERS, we believe that older adults should live with dignity and comfort in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment no matter their financial situation.
We are honored to partner with ERS to offer rent-subsidized, affordable senior living communities that provide a variety of options and services not often found in communities for seniors with limited incomes.
This Christmas, The Church of the Redeemer will also gift small household items for residents that are not covered by food stamps. To give, simply take a tag from the Giving Tree at Church, purchase the item listed, and return it un-wrapped under the tree at Redeemer by Sunday, December 12th.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Elizabeth Coley or Emily von Allmen. Thank you for your generous support of the residents of Madison Villa.
