Qigong & Breathwork
Tuesday, October 8, 2024, 3:00 PM
CoR After School is hosting a functional breathing program with Patrick Walker, a certified functional breathing instructor from Kindred Flow Yoga, every second Tuesday of the month.
Patrick’s program blends pranayama, wim-hof, buteyko, and schroth/scoliosis 3D rotational breathing practices. Never heard of any of this? No worries! No matter your familiarity with these modalities, all levels of experience (including no experience) are welcome. Participants control the intensity of the workout while learning tips, tricks, and exercises to increase body oxidation levels. Better body oxidation can lead to decreasing anxiety, reducing inflammation, decreasing asthma symptoms, resolving sleep apnea, and increasing spinal support. The program is designed to bring awareness to one's breathing during instructional time and give participants cues and tools to better their breathing outside of the program. The program has a brief instructional period to teach and coach form and function, using qigong flow as the warmup to balance the participant's bodies and identify what their bodies are asking from them. The instructional time finishes with guided rounds of breathwork to answer the body’s needs.
