PRIDE Month @ Church of the Redeemer
June is PRIDE month and Church of the Redeemer will celebrate this year in several ways.
On Saturday, June 1, we will join the Black-N-Bluegrass Roller Girls for their PRIDE Day at the Derby! This family friendly event takes place at Hits Indoor Baseball Arena in Covington (3785 Lake Park Drive, Covington, KY). Doors open at 4:00 pm and the first whistle is at 4:30 pm (juniors) and 8:00 pm (adults). Redeemer has a block of tickets available, contact Anny Stevens-Gleason, Minister for Worship and Incorporation, to get yours now. Ticket Cost: Adults (16+) $10, Kids (7-15) $5. Parking is free and kids 6 & under do not require tickets. This event is a fundraiser for GLSEN, whose mission is to create safe and affirming schools for all, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.
On Sunday, June 2, the Rt. Rev. Thomas E. Breidenthal, will join Anny Stevens Gleason to record an episode for our Becoming Beloved Community Podcast. Join us following our 10:00 am Confirmation service for this conversation with Bishop Breidenthal regarding our vision of a worshiping community growing with people of every age, race, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic situation, and political persuasion with a special emphasis on the LGBTQ community.
Cincinnati PRIDE is Saturday, June 22 and includes a Parade through downtown as well as a Festival at Sawyer Point. The Diocese of Southern Ohio will participate in both the Parade and the Festival. More information on volunteer opportunities will be available soon.
