FAQs about Stewardship
Q: What is Stewardship?
A: “Christian stewardship involves all of us and all we have. How we live our lives affects our relationship with God. Thinking of stewardship in terms of time, talent, and treasure helps us to focus and apply the concept of stewardship to our lives. How we use our time for God’s service, for work, for the care of others, or the care of ourselves is all a matter of stewardship... Stewardship is more than the manner in which we receive gifts from God; it is how we use these gifts that are given... Stewardship is the receiving of gifts from God and the intentional use and care of what we have been given.”

Q: How do I find out about ministries to give of my time and talents?
A: Go to our ministry pages to read about Redeemer’s ministries and contact any of the Board Chairs (listed on the back of the Sunday bulletin) for more information.
Q: Do I have to pledge to be a member of Redeemer?
A: A financial pledge is a symbol of your commitment to God and to this parish. The amount is not what matters most -- your participation is essential, however, if you are part of this community.
Q: How can I pay my pledge?
A: You can send in a check or checks on any schedule you like or you can put your donation in the offering plate on Sunday. If you would find it convenient to use weekly offering envelopes, we are happy to provide these upon request. Payment can also be made by the donation of stock; please call the office for instructions on stock donations.
Q: What about credit cards?
A: Redeemer now accepts credit cards for payment. Please call the office for details. Please note that our processing costs for credit card payments are approxi-mately 3%.
Q: What is a tithe?
A: The Bible defines a tithe as 10%.
Some people wonder if the tithe is based on gross or net income. Others wonder if the full tithe needs to be given to the church or whether it can be shared with other non-profit organizations such as United Way. We welcome these discussions with you.
