At the Church of the Redeemer, we strive to live out of the abundance of God's love. Everything we are, and everything we have ~ our time, our talents, our treasure, our very selves ~ is freely bestowed upon us by our loving and generous God, the Creator of all that is. God is the "owner" and we are the "stewards" or "managers." It is our joyful privilege and responsibility to use all that God has graciously given into our hands. It is our opportunity to know God and to use our spiritual, financial, and physical resources to share God's love with others.
The Stewardship Committee has four areas of annual focus:
the environment, our estate, our time and talent, and our treasure (money)
SPECIAL OPPORTUNITIES
Memorial Fund : Funds given in memory of a loved one are placed in this fund, which is used for significant Altar Guild purchases.
Capital Campaigns : Throughout the history of our parish we have called upon our members several times to fund large projects. Most recently was the Cornerstone Campaign which built our 2005 addition and improvements.
Flower donations : Each week parishioners contribute money for the flowers that adorn the church on Sundays. These donations are recognized in the bulletin as being in memory of or in thanksgiving for a loved one or a special event. In addition, Easter and Christmas afford special opportunities for donating flowers in honor of a loved one.
Offerings of the national Church , each collected annually at Redeemer include United Thank Offering, Episcopal Relief and Development, and Good Friday Offering. We also support the Episcopal Community Services Foundation.
A GENERAL THANKSGIVING
Accept, O Lord, our thanks and praise for all that you have done for us. We thank you for the splendor of the whole creation, for the beauty of this world, for the wonder of life, and for the mystery of love.We thank you for the blessing of family and friends, and for the loving care which surrounds us on every side. We thank you for setting us at tasks which demand our best efforts, and for leading us to accomplishments which satisfy and delight us. We thank you also for those disappointments and failures that lead us to acknowledge our dependence on you alone.
Above all, we thank you for your Son Jesus Christ; for the truth of his Word and the example of his life; for his steadfast obedience, by which he overcame temptation; for his dying, through which he overcame death; and for his rising to life again, in which we are raised to the life of your kingdom.
Grant us the gift of your Spirit, that we may know him and make him known; and through him, at all times and in all places, may give thanks to you in all things. Amen
