Our 10 am Sanctuary service offers an excellent mix of traditional Anglican hymnody and choral music. The Adult Choir leads the music for this service (except in the summer), and the St. Cecilia Choir also participates most weeks. Most of the congregational music is taken from the Hymnal 1982, although music from other traditions is occasionally included. The sanctuary is home to an organ.
Also at 10 am on Sundays is the Banquet. This service, held in the Great Hall, offers an alternative that is more contemporary both musically and liturgically. Our music, compiled in the Banquet Songbook, is taken from a wide variety of cultures and genres including Latin American, African, Native American, African-American, Taize, contemporary pop, "Procter" songs (church camp), American folk, and other traditional music from many nations. The music is led by a band -- alternating between our youth band Spikenard and our adult ensemble.
At 5 pm there is generally some instrumental music offered with occasional singing. Once a month our 5 pm service is the Celtic Eucharist; our Celtic ensemble consists of guitars, fiddle, flute, recorder, and concertina.
