Usher—1st grade to adult. Ushers arrive by 9:40 am, greet worshippers, and distribute bulletins. During the service ushers collect the offering and present it at the altar. There are four ushers scheduled each week.
Lectors—4th grade to adult. Lectors serve by reading a lesson or leading a psalm from the lectern. Readings are available in advance so that lectors may familiarize themselves with the selected passage.
Intercessors—7th grade to adult. Intercessors serve by leading the Prayers of the People. This requires good reading skills as the form changes regularly and the names in the prayers can be complex. There may not be a lot of time to practice ahead of time.
Oblationers—All ages. Oblationers serve in a group of three or more by presenting the bread and wine to the altar at the offertory. The group can be a family or group of individuals.
Musicians—All ages. We welcome the musical gifts of all parishioners at the Banquet. Our regular music is provided by our teen band, Spikenard and our adult group, ACE. If you are interested in serving as a vocalist or as an instrumentalist in the Banquet, you are invited to contact Loretta Graner, Music Director, at the church office (321-6700).
Acolytes—4th grade to adult. Acolytes carry torches and crosses in the procession and assist the priests with various duties throughout the worship service. Ted Terry (232-3235) and Michelle Kirk (777-0461) are the contact people for this ministry.
Chalicist—To serve as a chalicist, you must be confirmed and be licensed by the Diocese of Southern Ohio. Chalicists administer the chalice during communion. Please contact Alice Connor+ at 321-6700 to find out more about these ministries.
