The ONE Campaign is a bi-partisan, grassroots political advocacy group lobbying congress for increased global poverty-focused development assistance funding. At the 2005 G8 summit, the US committed .7% of the GNP (Gross National Product) or about $93 billion dollars annually to the support of the Millenium Development Goals, yet the 2006 funding level was only $10.6 billion. It is our job is to remind Congress that they have not fulfilled their promise and that it is important to us (their constituents) that they do so. Come join us four times a year (our next date will be in March or April) to write letters to your congressmen. Ask them to take action and end the severe global poverty which is destabilizing the world. If you'd be willing to call or email from home, visit: http://action.one.org/ActionSignup.html and sign the declaration (or do so in person during an offering). You will recieve email notifications (about once a month) when important funding or fair trade legislation is being debated in Congress. The contact person is Bonnie Kretschmer (513-871-2199). For more information, go to: http://www.one.org
